NHGA Junior Tour and The First Tee of NH Partnered for New Junior Golf Initiative
April 16th 2018 - Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Golf Association (NHGA) Junior Golf Tour is excited to announce its partnership with the First Tee of New Hampshire on a new Junior Golf initiative for the upcoming season. The NHGA Junior Tour will be conducting a Mini Tournament Series. This tournament series will give junior golfers a chance to join one of four teams and compete together this season.

The tournament series is open to junior golfers of all playing abilities and will consist of four events in which the teams will play against each other in a round robin and a team scramble format.

The four teams are divided up into geographical regions of the state, North, South, East and West.  Junior golfers will be able to join one of the four teams, based on what county they reside in or which First Tee location they play at. The teams will take turns playing against each other at each of the three events this summer, with a final championship tournament to end the series for the season.

“We are extremely excited to partner with the NHGA to provide a fun and friendly competitive golf experience for our youth across New Hampshire,” said Chris Sargent, the Executive Director of The First Tee of NH.  “All kids who participate in the NHGA – The First Tee of New Hampshire Tournament Series will be introduced to The First Tee Core Values, Healthy Habits, and Life Skills, along with the proper rules and etiquette of the game.  It is wonderful to see the missions of these two organizations come together to positively impact young people throughout our state while creating a lifelong interest in the golf."

Junior Golfers that wish to join a team and play in the Mini Tournament Series need to register to be a member of the NHGA Junior Tour. They will be able to join a team for $15. When a player joins a team they will receive a team t-shirt as well as a team oriented bag tag. Members will also have full access to register for any of the tournaments on the NHGA Junior Tour.
More information about the Mini Series can be found under the Junior Golf tab of the NHGA website: www.nhgolfassociation.org.

About the First Tee of New Hampshire
Since 1997, The First Tee has grown its network to deliver programs in all 50 United States and select international locations. It started as a way to bring an affordable junior golf program to youth and communities that did not have them. In 2016, The First Tee brought character education through the game of golf to more than 5.3 million young people. The program has established Nine Core Values that represent some of the many inherently positive values connected with the game of golf. By participating in The First Tee, young people are introduced to these core values which are incorporated throughout the program.
