Author: Kate Kellar
July 28th 2016 - Thornton, NH –  After two delays for dangerous weather conditions, round two is complete and the field has been cut to the low 40 players.  Coming in strong in the second round were Andrew Rauscher, Cave Creek, Arizona; Jeffrey Kellen, Manorville, NY; and Kevin Fay, Lawrence, MA.  Each player finished with a two-day total of 138, with Rauscher and Fay shooting 68 in today’s round and Kellen keeping both rounds consistent at 69.
Continuing their run as amateurs at the NH Open are Josh Chamberlain, New Boston, NH, shooting even-par, 72 today, bringing his two-day total to 140.  Giving Chamberlain a run for his money is Brett Krekorian, Andover, MA, who matched his round one total, with a 70.  Both will be battling it out in round three to earn the low amateur spot.
Amateurs Kip Webber, Boxborough, MA; James Pleat, Nashua, NH; and Mike Martel, New Ipswich, NH are also on the radar for low amateur.  Webber returned a second round score of 72 for a total 142 and Pleat kept it to two-under today for a 143 total.  Martel still secured his spot in the final round by firing a one-under, 71.
The final round will begin Friday morning, July 29th, at 7:30AM.  The winning professional will receive a $5,000 check.
The New Hampshire Open is a three-day, individual stroke play event.  All players play 18 holes each of the first two days.  Following round two, the field is cut to the low 40 plus ties who then play 18 holes in round three to conclude the tournament.
