Author: Greg Howell
September 7th 2016 - The 2016 Tri-State Championship between New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine will begin Saturday, September 10th at Belgrade Lakes Golf Club in Maine. In 2015 New Hampshire took the victory thanks in large part to a dominating performance from the four senior players on the team. The team is made up of ten "regular" players and four senior players. Eight of the fourteen players on the 2016 team were on the winning team at Manchester CC in Vermont last fall. Meet the fourteen players representing the Granite State below:

Mike Blair (Bretwood GC)*- Mike Blair is one of the eight returning players from the victorious 2015 Tri-State Team. Blair earned 2.5 of a possible 3 points at Manchester in 2015 and was part of the senior contingent that earned a 7.5 of 8 points in singles. Blair finished T5 at the 2015 Senior Championship and was the final player eliminated in the 8-hole playoff for match play at the 2016 State Amateur.
Josh Chamberlain (Stonebridge CC) - Chamberlain had a busy 2016 with strong finishes at multiple events. He carried the momentum from a T9 finish at the 2015 Mid-Amateur into the 2016 season with a T3 finish at the Player's Invitational. The former Mid-Amateur Champion finished as the 2nd Low NH Amateur at the New Hampshire Open and made the Round of 64 at the 2016 New Hampshire Amateur Championship.
Jim Cilley (Ridgewood CC) - Cilley has become a staple on Team New Hampshire at Tri-States over the past few seasons. Cilley won both of his singles matches in 2015 and will look to continue that strong play in 2016. The 2011 State Amateur Champion has accumlated four Top 5 finishes in 2016 with a T3 finish at the Players Invitational, and a T4 finish at the Stroke Play Championship. Cilley and his partner Mike Mahan finished T2 at the Four-Ball Championship and Cilley advanced to the semifinals of the State Amateur Championship at Laconia CC.

Landry finished T14 at the 2015 Mid-Amateur Championship at Stonebridge CC. Landry finished as the Runner-Up at the 2016 Senior Championship.

The 2010 State Amateur Champion advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2016 State Amateur.
