September 9th 2015 - Live Results

The 2015 Tri-State Championship between New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine will begin Saturday, September 19th at Manchester Country Club in Manchester, Vermont. In 2014 New Hampshire took the victory thanks in large part to a dominating performance from the four senior players on the team. The team is made up of ten "regular" players and four senior players. Seven of the fourteen players on the 2015 team were on the winning team at Concord CC last fall. Meet the fourteen players representing the Granite State below:
Mike Blair (Bretwood GC)*- Mike Blair will be one of the four senior players on the 2015 team. Blair finished tied for 5th at the 2015 Senior Amateur and was 3rd at the event in 2014. Blair was on the 2012 team the last time the event was in Vermont and earned 1.75 of a possible points.
Jim Cilley (Lochmere Golf & CC) - Jim Cilley is a Tri-State veteran with appearances on each of the last three teams. The 2011 State Amateur Champion was undefeated in alternate shot with his partner Nick MacDonald in 2014. Cilley finished T13 in medal play at the 2015 State Amateur Championship and was the T3 at the 2014 Mid-Amateur. Cilley is one of six former State Amateur Champions on the team.
Jamie Ferullo (Rochester CC) - Ferullo, a newcomer to the Tri-State team, had a great run at the 2015 State Amateur Championship at Mt. Washington Resort GC. He finished T10 at 1-under par during medal play at the Championship before winning four matches. Ferullo beat 2015 Player's Invitational Champion Matt Paradis and 9-time State Amateur Champion Bob Mielcarz before bowing out to eventual Champion Connor Greenleaf in a thrilling 20 hole match.
Jim Jankowski (Baker Hill GC)* - Jim Jankowski will be one of the four senior representatives on the 2015 team. He finished T9 at the 2015 Senior Championship and T4 at the 2014 Senior.
Peter Keilty (Portsmouth CC) - Keilty was the Runner-Up at the 2014 Mid-Amateur Championship, finishing four shots back of Champion Brett Wilson. Keilty last appeared on the Tri-State team in 2013 where he took home 2.25 of a possible 3 points. Keilty's 6-over finish at the 2015 Stroke Play Championship earned him a T18 finish.
Ryan Kohler (Hooper GC) - Ryan Kohler has been a staple of Tri-State teams over the last few years. The 2012 Stroke Play Champion has taken home a full three points at each of the last two events. Kohler was the medalist at the 2014 State Amateur Championshp and earned the low amateur title at the 2015 New Hampshire Open after defeating Joe Leavitt in a playoff.
Sean Lacey (MGMA) - Sean Lacey is returning to the Tri-State stage after missing the 2014 Championship. Lacey earned 1.25 points in Maine in 2013. His 1-under final round at the 2014 Mid-Amateur Championship earned him a T5 finish.
David Larrivee (Manchester CC) - Larrivee is another who missed the 2014 team but has Tri-State experience. In 2013 he claimed two points out of a possible three. Larrivee finished T3 at the 2014 Mid-Amateur Championship and earned the 51st seed at the 2015 State Amateur Championship. No stranger to match play, Larrivee survived a playoff at the 2013 State Amateur to earn the 63rd seed and upset co-medalist James Pleat in the first round.
Nick MacDonald (Lake Sunapee CC) - Nick MacDonald was one of five New Hampshire players who earned a full three points at the 2014 Tri-States. MacDonald sunk the clinching putt on the 18th hole at Concord CC to clinch the victory for team New Hampshire. The 2010 New Hampshire Amateur Champion used a strong showing at the New England Amateur to earn his spot on the 2015 Tri-State Team.
Michael Martel (Crotched Mountain Resort & GC) - Michael Martel has earned 1.75 points at the last two Tri-State Championships. The 2013 State Amateur Champion was the low amateur at the 2014 New Hampshire Open and earned the 6th seed at the 2015 State Amateur. Martel capped off the the 2015 Stroke Play Championship with a 3-under   69 and finished T12.
Bob Mielcarz (Concord CC)* - Perhaps the greatest match play player in the history of New Hampshire golf, Bob Mielcarz is one of the four senior representatives on the 2015 team. Mielcarz won the 2015 Senior Championship, his third time winning that title. The nine-time Amateur Champion earned a full three points in 2014 at his home club, winning both of his singles matches before the 15th hole. Mielcarz made an incredible run to the quarterfinals at the 2015 State Amateur Championship before being taken down by Tri-State teammate Jamie Ferullo.
Phil Pleat (Nashua CC)* - A group of senior golfers in the Granite State isn't complete without Phil Pleat. The 18-time NHGA Champion won four straight New Hampshire Senior Championships from 2011-2014. Pleat is no stranger to match play, having won the State Amateur three times. Pleat showed more match play prowess in 2011 when he advanced to the US Senior Amateur Championship match before falling to Louis Lee 1 up.
Craig Steckowych (Portsmouth CC) - Craig Steckowych has been a key part of the past two Tri-State teams with 4.5 points earned out of a possible six. Steckowych is another former State Amateur Champion on Team New Hampshire, having won the title in 1990 and 1998. Steckowych and his partner Brett Wilson have played the alternate shot portion of Tri-States each of the last two years and have not lost. They will likely play together again this year and will look to continue their hot streak.
Brett Wilson (The Golf Club of New England) - Brett Wilson has been the best Mid-Amateur player in the Granite State over the last two years. Wilson won both the 2013 and 2014 Mid-Amateur Championships and was the 20th seed at the 2015 State Amateur Championship. Wilson has earned 4.25 points over the last two years at Tri-States including a perfect three point performance in 2013. Wilson will likely be paired with Craig Steckowych for Saturday's alternate shot round.
